Behind every great album is a visual identity that brings the music to life, and for Small Geezers, that identity comes courtesy of talented local designer Daniel.

Daniel, who is just about to start his second year studying Graphic Design and Illustration at Northbrook College, is the creative mind behind the entire visual look of the project. From the cover artwork for the album and CD to the t-shirts, labels, stickers, and other official merchandise, his designs have given Small Geezers its distinct, eye-catching style.

The Story Behind the Name

The inspiration for the name Small Geezers originally came from Bognorphenia founder Kez. Local artist Tamp had previously painted a mural at the community centre based on Maltesers, humorously retitled “Small Geezers” and featuring a packet design with little characters working on it.

While using the original Malteser-inspired artwork for the official album was off the table for copyright reasons, Kez couldn’t let the phrase go. She felt Small Geezers fitted the album perfectly, given that the project primarily showcases and celebrates local young people.

Bringing the Brief to Life

When Kez briefed Daniel, she asked him to blend the Small Geezers name with core Bognorphenia themes: urban street art and the iconic Mod target/roundel logo from 1960s youth culture.

Daniel nailed the brief by combining a graffiti-painted brick wall background with a painted target motif, overlaying the words “Small Geezers” in bold, street-art style lettering. The result bridges classic local heritage with modern youth culture.
