Our music projects

Bognophenia : The Music Project is an opportunity for young people of all abilities to get involved with making music and singing.  It is fully inclusive and welcomes neurodiversity, wheelchair users, and anyone who wants to join in.

We offer a fully-equipped rehearsal room with recording equipment and also a large capacity room with stage for performances.

We provide free music lessons and run Vibe & Thrive sessions in the rehearsal room for young people to have a go at playing the different instruments we have here.

Young people can also gain experience in other skills such as social media management and graphic design, to support the projects and events we host.

Many thanks to HolliePics Work & Photography for many of the photos on this page.

Band Nights

Vendetta are one of the local bands who have used the community centre to rehearse their songs and in May they organised a gig night involving five local bands.

Our facilities are free for young bands to use and put on their own gigs and events. We encourage them to use these performances to raise money for us so that we can then use that for future projects and the costs associated with running the rehearsal room.  They are free to raise money for other charities too.

Bognorphenia Singers

Our choir, Bognorphenia Singers are an inclusive group who perform contemporary songs.  Some of our previously non-verbal members are now joining in and singing with everyone, which is a fantastic achievement!

The Bognorphenia mentors guide the singers but we encourage them to lead too, and choose the songs they’d like to learn and perform.

No Limits Disco

There are also opportunities to learn to DJ, for example at our No Limits Disco, which is aimed at those aged 16 and above.  Here you can see Harvey Scott in action on the decks!

Another regular attendee is William who loves all our music events and dances from start to finish!  Whether it’s a themed session which are held five times per year, or a regular disco, he can be found on the dancefloor.

Entry for the No Limits Disco is £5 and includes a packet of crisps and a can of Coke, and there is also a paid bar for further refreshments.
