Artist Spotlight : Hattie Chandler

With a voice that seamlessly blends soul, country, and the timeless spirit of 70s rock, Hattie Chandler is an emerging singer-songwriter from Bognor Regis who is making waves across the UK music scene.

Drawing deep inspiration from icons like Stevie Nicks, Barbra Streisand, and Linda Ronstadt, Hattie weaves classic ’70s subculture influences into a modern, distinct sound of her own.

Hattie’s love affair with music began at a very young age. One of her fondest memories is her dad bringing home her very first 45 single—Cilla Black’s “Anyone Who Had a Heart”—which became her primary musical spark at just twelve years old. Growing up, singing and vintage fashion served as a vital creative escape during school years, laying the foundation for her bold, unique artistic identity today.

At 18, Hattie discovered Fleetwood Mac and found the ultimate inspiration in Stevie Nicks. She went on to tour extensively across the UK and internationally as Stevie in one of the nation’s top Fleetwood Mac tribute acts, even delivering a standout performance as Stevie on ITV’s Starstruck in 2023.

Instant Musical Chemistry

After performing in various bands and duos, Hattie joined forces with guitarist Stefan Rajic. Their musical connection was immediate. Combining Hattie’s powerful vocals with Stefan’s electrifying guitar work, the duo began touring internationally—from gigs in Germany to a five-month cruise ship residency that sharpened their live show and stage connection.

It was during those travels that the first notes of Hattie’s original material were born. Returning to the UK, Hattie and Stefan expanded their sound, rehearsing in a garden shed with fellow musicians to build a fully fledged band complete with keys and strings. They debuted their rich, new original set with a triumphant performance at Wickham Festival, paving the way for Hattie’s latest EP and upcoming debut album projects.

Not only is she touring over the summer, she’s also performing at Victorious Festival in Southsea which takes place over the August bank holiday.

We are thrilled to feature Hattie Chandler as part of the official Bognorphenia album, Small Geezers. Her track Lady From Phoenix showcases the incredible songwriting, vocal control, and storytelling prowess that make her one of the most exciting acts on the local scene.
